Privacy Policy

Survive in China is built with privacy in mind. We don't track you, we don't profile you for ads, and we don't sell your data. Here's the details.

What We Collect

When you sign up, we store: email, display name (if provided), and your onboarding answers (country, purpose, interests, bookmarks). We use Firebase (auth + Firestore) to run your account. That data stays in our Firebase project—we don't export it to ad networks, data brokers, or third parties.

If you pay for membership or downloads, our payment provider (Stripe) handles the transaction. We receive basic info (e.g. that you paid, not your full card number). See Stripe's privacy policy for their practices.

What We Don't Do

• No tracking. No analytics that follow you across sites. No "behavioral profiling."
• No ad cookies. We don't use cookies for advertising or third-party tracking. Any cookies are for essential functions (e.g. keeping you logged in).
• No selling data. We don't sell your info to Google, Amazon, Facebook, data brokers, or anyone else.
• No sharing for ads. We don't share your data with ad networks or retargeting providers.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your account data stays until you delete your account. You can delete your account anytime from your profile. That removes your Firestore data and your authentication account. We don't keep backups of deleted accounts for longer than necessary.

Security

We use Firebase for auth and data storage. Firebase is a Google product with standard security practices. We don't store passwords ourselves—Google (for Google sign-in) or Firebase (for email sign-in) handles that. We recommend using a strong password and enabling 2FA on your Google account if you use Google sign-in.

Children

Our service is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has signed up, please Contact us.

Changes

We may update this policy. We'll note the "Last updated" date. Continued use means you accept the changes.
